A visit to Mysen

During autumn holidays (2 – 7 November) six teachers of different subjects from Birzai “Ausra” secondary school visited Mysen secondary school in Norway. The project “Making school a better place to be and learn” was financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers Information Office in Lithuania, by the Mysen secondary school and by the participants. The teachers were acquainted with the Norwegian school system, Mysen secondary school, participated in seminars and discussions. They had a chance to experience how their Norwegian colleagues solve different problems, concerning bullying, drug and alcohol abuse, how they deal with students with special needs. The stay was both useful and enjoyable. Having come back the participants are sharing the ideas with their colleagues at school and in the district. All the teachers are very much obliged to the Headmaster of Mysen secondary school, to Per Gathen, the coordinator, and all the teachers at Mysen who shared their time and experience with the colleagues from Lithuania.

It was agreed that the cooperation will continue and some teachers from Mysen will visit Birzai in April.
