| The town of Birzai lies in the far north of Lithuania, approximately
20 km away from the highway VIA Baltika, 95 km south f Riga, 210 km
north of Vilnius. It boasts a glorious history, incredibly beautiful
nature and sincere, hospitable people. This is a place where people of
seven different religious denominations peacefully dwell and work, where
Sirvena and Kiluciai lakes calmly lie, the Apascia and Agluona rivers
flow. Birzai is also well known for its 2000 sinkholes, which appear when
the ground caves in, and for numerous breweries, each producing unique,
natural beers. |
